Lax <= Heliax = Lanre = A"LAX"el
i guess that the fact that lax's name is present in Heliax and in his true name may suggest that Lanre, after dieing and being called back by Lyra near the "Doors of Stone" (if i'm not mistaken, or atleast they were mentioned there by Skarpi in his story as far as i recall, but pls correct me if i'm wrong) might have some how put lax and lanre in contact and his somehow allowed lax to escape and start possesion of lanre or something like that and when Lyre died he was broken and lax took control over him and wanted to make it so that those who had him thrown behind the doors of stone will pay.
