Sephran is one of the three musicians of Dennais Threpe, who plays flute. During his times of struggle Dennais Threpe helps him by giving him his patronage. He is described as a good flutist by Threpe.

In one of the meetings, Kvothe admits to Threpe that he has no patron which makes Threpe to regret his choice of giving the patronage to Sephran, his third musician, but within moments he admits to be unfair and describes him good in what he does.
Sephran, along with the other two musicians of Threpe, is quite over protective of his patron like a real wife. He seems to take serious accounts on his patron's expenses. He behaves like a typical wife where he takes details of every other gift his patron gives to anyone. He always tries to get more attention of his patron as compared to the other musicians even if it involves bickering like a cat with others.
