Marie is a great musician who plays the violin. She usually plays music in The Eolian, and owns a talent pipe. Marie is Manet's love interest. Her patron is the Lady Jael. She has no love for fasion and usually wears road clothes. She is tall and proud.
Manet calls her "a woman and a half, which makes her five times more woman than any of you can handle" to Kvothe, Sim and Will. Marie is very no-nonsense and proud, having once punched a man in the throat for calling her "that mouthy fiddler bitch".
