Basil is one of Kvothe's classmates at University. He is often working Stocks at the Fishery as punishment for minor transgressions. He was Kvothe's bunkmate in Mews, helped him with his presentation in Principles of Sympathy, helped spread rumors about Kvothe, and participated in the plan to destroy the clay simulacrum of Kvothe. He is one of the only people at the University to have met Nina.
