<p>Hey people, since Ivorydoom doesn't seem to be active anymore, I decided to adopt the wiki to gain bureaucrat rights so I can promote other users to admin status. I've filed my adoption request in the Community Central. </p>

<p>The {{stub}} tag has been misused. It is normally meant to tag articles that are too short and needs to be expanded, and there are many tools that can help add the tag automatically to short articles. However, the stub tag is used here as a way to tag articles that are not necessarily too short, but which are not fully in compliance with the style and layout guide, even if they are pretty long and full of information. My bot would accidentally remove the stub tag in such cases because it detects that the article's length is enough for it not to be called "stub" anymore. To avoid falsely removing the tag, I suggest we do not use the stub tag for such cases. I have created a new notice template called {{needhelp}}, add it to articles that lack certain critical information, citation or formatting, but are long enough not to be stubs anymore. </p><p>In short: </p>

• {{stub}}: add to stub articles: really short articles with a length lower than 300 bytes. This tag can be added with a bot, so users do not have to worry to add it manually. All pages with this tag are automatically added to Category:Article stubs (do not add manually to the category, always use template!)

• {{needhelp}}: add to any article (usually medium-sized) that you think requires editing. All pages with this tag are automatically added to Category:Articles needing help (do not add manually to the category, always use template!)

<p>Hey, I would like to announce something. I have requested for a spotlight of this wiki. It's a sort of advertisement at the bottom of the pages (in the "Around Wikia's network" section). You can read more about it here. I made sure our wiki meets all requirements. Hopefully, it will be approved. :) </p>

<p>Just wanted to say thank you for all the new contributions the pages are looking great and it is wonderful to have some active editors!  I have made a couple edits to the style guide but will review it more thoroughly when I get a bit more time, most likely over the weekend.  </p>

<p>I have created a template which allows us to easily cite books from the Kingkiller Chronicle. The template is {{ref}} and you use it by transcluding the template at the end of a sentence or section that you want to cite. </p> <h2><span class="mw-headline" id="How_does_it_work.3F"> How does it work? </span></h2> <p>It is explained in the documentation how it works, but basically you write the book abbreviation followed by the chapter number: </p>

<p>I think there are too many categories. When I scroll through them, I would like to be able to see the pages ok the wiki broken down into diff categories neatly and not be overwhelmed by it.  </p><p>Categories I think are unneccesary: </p>

• Animals/creatures only need 1
• Article management templates‏‎ 
• Articles about The Kingkiller Chronicle‏‎ (5 members) 
• Articles in the world of Temerant‏‎ 
• bots
• browse
• substances/devices/objects is redundant
• fanart and fanarts should just be in images
• there should just be one image page (images by... shouldn't be a category in my opinion)
• pairs/ NotW playing cards/ NotW covers should be one cat. if not just be in images

<p>you get the jist. I'm not sure what the wiki rules are if some of the stuff like policy or templates has to stay but there are way to many categories to normally scroll through and browse </p>

<p>For the sake of formality, I will post here a thread about the usage of my bot User:Ohmystars-bot in this wiki. This is a requirement to get a bot flag, as explained here. "A bot flag is a setting in the MediaWiki software that hides bot edits from the recent changes list", because bot edits "can overwhelm the recent changes list, making it difficult to see and respond to edits by human users". </p><p>If anyone disagrees with the usage of my bot, you can respond in this thread. </p>

1. Articles about The Kingkiller Chronicle
2. Articles in the world of Temerant

<p>It's not difficult to figure out that the first category contains articles that are not about things within the world of Temerant, but real-life articles about the series, like the subcategory Written works. It differs from the subcategory Books in the second main category, which contains articles about books in the world of Temerant, like the book Rhetoric and Logic. </p><p>Let's talk about the second main category. We have subcategories Characters, Locations, Objects and so on. I have tried to re-arrange all articles within one of the subcategories, but I have problems with the articles within the subcategory Category:Setting Details. </p><p>Feel free to share your ideas on how to do this! </p>

<p>The articles are currently crowded with images. There are a few problems: </p>

1. Most of the images are fanarts. It may be difficult for visitors of the articles to distinguish between fanarts and semi-official pictures (like the card images). It may cause confusion if it's not stated clearly that the image is a fanart and just an interpretation by an artist.
2. Some of the images are uncredited. Images should never be posted without credits. Artists put a lot of efforts into creating these.
3. Some of the images are completely unrelated to the series, but only used as stock pictures to fill up the articles. IMO these images should be removed.
4. Featuring one fanart on a page is unfair to other fan artists. Why would one interpretation of a character by an artist be better than another? We should give equal amount of exposure to the fanarts of all artists.

<p>To target the above problems, I suggest grouping the fanarts of a certain subject together and giving the proper credits in the captions. The images themselves should be added to a category "Images of [subject]" and "Images by [artist]". See an example page at another wiki (where I'm an admin), example category of subject and example category of artist. </p><p>What do you think of my suggestion? It will be a lot of work to move all images, categorize them, add credits and edit all relevant pages, but I think it will be worth it in the end. </p>

<p>I'm going to create infoboxes that will appear on all book pages and all character pages. I have some ideas on what data will be displayed, but I would love to hear your input on what is missing or what should be removed. </p><p>Book infobox (example): </p>
